About Me:

I was a lawyer in a small law firm in New Jersey when I became a Christian. In 2011, we sold our house and moved to Texas so I could attend Dallas Theological Seminary. I accepted the call to become Senior Pastor of Grace Redeemer Community Church in Garland, Texas, in July 2017. Every Sunday I preach the same gospel that I rejected for so many years. If you would have told me 25 years ago that I would be pastoring a church in Texas today, I would have said you were crazy. That’s the grace of God!

I love to read and study the Bible and teach it to others, so they may experience the life transformation found when they receive the gospel. The inspiration to write books sprung from my passion to spread the gospel beyond the walls of the church I pastor.

I also love travel and exercise. I’ve finished 16 marathons and a bunch of half-marathons. I’m a sports fan, but mostly from the bleachers these days. One of my goals is to go to a game in every major league baseball stadium. Six to go!

Running For The Glory of God

Are you ready to take your running to the next level?

I don’t mean physically; I mean spiritually. God’s word tells us whatever we do, we do in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father, for the glory of God. (Colossians 3:7; 1 Corinthians 10:31.) That includes running. Running can be a lonely activity, but with Jesus, you’ll always have company. I’ve been learning to see His hand in every stride, and you can too.

Running for the Glory of God is a 40-day devotional written to motivate and inspire you to run to glorify God. Each devotional begins with a story connected to running or racing, and then uses Scripture to draw out spiritual lessons.

If you’re a runner and you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, this book will encourage you on your running journey and your spiritual journey. If you’re not a believer, or if you’ve allowed yourself to drift from Jesus over the years, this book is for you, even if you’re not a runner. It’s time to get off the couch and get back in spiritual shape. Let’s toe the starting line and get ready to run. The gun is about to go off.

Don’t Be a Hypocrite

You’ve probably read the Sermon on the Mount and thought, “Was Jesus serious? Who can possibly obey this?” Like a surgeon, Jesus cuts us deep to heal us. His message to us is simple, “Do Not Be Like the Hypocrites.” A kingdom citizen must be different.

This Is God’s Plan?!

In these turbulent times, we may feel like pulling our hair out. “How can THIS be God’s plan?” This book will show you that God has a plan. Seeing God’s hand in creation, the fall, redemption, and the promised restoration will strengthen your faith.

If you’re a skeptic, this book is also for you. I was a doubter too. Believing in a God who allows all He does is hard. If you’re willing to consider that God exists and is working out his plan, this book may give you a new perspective. God has a plan, and He’s in control.

God Is Everywhere!

Do you sometimes feel like God is hiding? We can easily become discouraged when it seems like He’s not listening, or when it seems like He’s distant. In those times, we need to train ourselves to recognize God in everyday life. He’s just as present in our most menial tasks as He is in the grandeur of a clear starry sky. These devotionals will help you recognize God’s presence in all you see and do. You’ll be encouraged to know that God is not hiding. God is Everywhere!

Facing Life’s Challenges Head On

Learn how to cope when anxiety, fear, doubt, and more attack. Did you know that many characters in the Bible experienced the same emotions you do? You'll laugh and cry from honest stories of my personal encounters with these issues, and be reminded that Jesus gets you through what you can’t get around. Practical, not preachy!
